Proverbs 15:21-26
[21] Folly is a joy to him who has no sense,
but a man of understanding walks aright.
[22] Without counsel plans go wrong,
but with many advisers they succeed.
[23] To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is!
[24] The wise man’s path leads upward to life,
that he may avoid Sheol beneath.
[25] The LORD tears down the house of the proud,
but maintains the widow’s boundaries.
[26] The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD,
the words of the pure are pleasing to him.

Isaiah 22:20-24
[20] In that day I will call my servant Eli’akim the son of Hilki’ah,
[21] and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your girdle on him, and will commit your authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
[22] And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
[23] And I will fasten him like a peg in a sure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his father’s house.
[24] And they will hang on him the whole weight of his father’s house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons.

I Peter 5:1-7
[1] So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ as well as a partaker in the glory that is to be revealed.
[2] Tend the flock of God that is your charge, not by constraint but willingly, not for shameful gain but eagerly,
[3] not as domineering over those in your charge but being examples to the flock.
[4] And when the chief Shepherd is manifested you will obtain the unfading crown of glory.
[5] Likewise you that are younger be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you.
[7] Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you.

Matthew 11:2-14
[2] Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples
[3] and said to him, “Are you he who is to come, or shall we look for another?”
[4] And Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John what you hear and see:
[5] the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
[6] And blessed is he who takes no offense at me.”
[7] As they went away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds concerning John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to behold? A reed shaken by the wind?
[8] Why then did you go out? To see a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, those who wear soft raiment are in kings’ houses.
[9] Why then did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
[10] This is he of whom it is written, `Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,
who shall prepare thy way before thee.’
[11] Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
[12] From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force.
[13] For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John;
[14] and if you are willing to accept it, he is Eli’jah who is to come.
