Proverbs 7:1-7
[1] My son, keep my words
and treasure up my commandments with you;
[2] keep my commandments and live,
keep my teachings as the apple of your eye;
[3] bind them on your fingers,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
[4] Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
and call insight your intimate friend;
[5] to preserve you from the loose woman,
from the adventuress with her smooth words.
[6] For at the window of my house
I have looked out through my lattice,
[7] and I have seen among the simple,
I have perceived among the youths,
a young man without sense,

Ezekiel 12:17-19
[17] Moreover the word of the LORD came to me:
[18] “Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink water with trembling and with fearfulness;
[19] and say of the people of the land, Thus says the Lord GOD concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with fearfulness, and drink water in dismay, because their land will be stripped of all it contains, on account of the violence of all those who dwell in it.

Romans 8:12-27
[12] So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh —
[13] for if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.
[14] For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
[15] For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship. When we cry, “Abba! Father!”
[16] it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
[17] and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
[18] I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
[19] For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God;
[20] for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope;
[21] because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God.
[22] We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail together until now;
[23] and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
[24] For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?
[25] But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
[26] Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.
[27] And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Luke 9:23-27
[23] And he said to all, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
[24] For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake, he will save it.
[25] For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?
[26] For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
[27] But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”
