I Corinthians 1:10-18
I Corinthians 1:10-18
 I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
 For it has been reported to me by Chlo’e’s people that there is quarreling among you, my brethren.
 What I mean is that each one of you says, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apol’los,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.”
 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
 I am thankful that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Ga’ius;
 lest any one should say that you were baptized in my name.
 (I did baptize also the household of Steph’anas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any one else.)
 For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them,
 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
 Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me;
 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
 “Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the man by whom the temptation comes!
 And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life maimed or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire.
 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.
